History

The Company was formed in July 1919 to make and sell reinforcing steel for the construction industry and was originally known as The Helical Bar and Engineering Company Limited.[2] The sale of the steel reinforcement business to its management at the end of 1986 enabled Helical Bar to diversify into a property development and investment company.[2]

In 2008 a consortium of Helical Bar and Grainger was named as the preferred developer for the King Street regeneration scheme in Hammersmith.[3]
